I always thought this was an old Woodward & Lothrop location. It reminded me of the old Woodies up in Friendship Heights. And what I took for an old Woodies in Seven Corners.

I was wrong. This was an old Penny's.

The store in Seven Corners was actually an old Garfinckels. The old Woodies was on the other side of Seven Corners and was razed to build the Home Depot.

The old Woodies in Old Town was actually up the street a few blocks. That building was razed to erect the complex that houses Talbots and Trader Joe's (among others). I remember the new construction a short time after moving to the area, but can't say I remember seeing anything that was there before.
